Universal Geneve Tri-Compax "Jumbo" Ref 22536

There are few vintage chronographs that balance presence, complexity, and character quite like the Universal Genève Tri-Compax. This example dates to 1945, just one year after the Tri-Compax was first introduced. It brought together a full calendar, moonphase, and chronograph in a single watch — an impressive combination of complications for its time. At 36.5mm, this example was considered oversized or “Jumbo” by the standards of the period, giving it a presence that still feels relevant today.

Being from the 40’s, it’s particularly tricky to find fully original examples. This is one of those examples. The dial has developed a nice patina, with subtle signs of age that give it depth and character. The case remains thick and sharp, retaining its original lines throughout
